A statement from Broward County Public Schools shared with USA TODAY Tuesday indicated that the students took "edibles" with an unknown substance. Where the children got the edibles is under investigation.
"Parents and guardians are reminded to speak with their children about the importance of positive decision-making and maintaining a drug-free and healthy environment, stressing the potential risks associated with sharing unpackaged and unfamiliar food items," the statement read.
